Atif Rana, the Chief Executive Officer of the Lahore Qalandars, stated on Thursday that the cancellation of the New Zealand and England series has caused anger and sorrow among Pakistanis.

In light of cricket fans' dissatisfaction, Lahore Qalandars COO Samin Rana and Quetta Gladiators owner Nadeem Umar have proposed that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) hold a "mini-PSL" during these trying times.

In an exclusive interview with Geo News, Atif Rana stated that when two teams from different nations compete in Pakistan, the number of fans in the stadium is lower than when the Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandar compete.
"If a match between Karachi and Lahore is organized at these times, the public's attention will be distracted from the England-New Zealand series cancellation," the CEO added.

On a lighter side, Rana stated that if the Lahore Qalandars lose, people would criticize the players and the squad, and they will "probably forget" about the England and New Zealand series.

The CEO, when asked about the future of the Lahore Qalandars, stated that the team has a lot of ideas.
"The Lahore Qalandars have always brought joy to people," he added, adding that the club aims to provide supporters relief following recent defeats.

England, New Zealand cancel Pakistan tour

Last week, Pakistan cricket suffered yet another major loss when England canceled their visit to the country after New Zealand withdrew earlier.

"We realize that this decision would be a huge disappointment to the PCB," the ECB stated, expressing remorse. The PCB has worked diligently to bring international cricket back to their country.

The New Zealand Cricket (NZC) board dropped out of the much-anticipated visit on September 17, just hours before the first ODI match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, citing a security alert from their government.

Despite assurances from Pakistani officials that the squad would be safe, the series was canceled.
New Zealand Cricket's decision to withdraw its players from the series was a "unilateral" move made by the Kiwis without contacting the PCB, according to the PCB.
