Anwar Ali, Pakistan's pacer, has stated that his performance as an all-rounder has been better than that of most players in domestic white-ball cricket during the last two seasons.

Ali, who last played for Pakistan in a T20I against Bangladesh in 2016, told Cricket Pakistan in an exclusive interview that he has fully recovered from his injuries.

“I suffered for a few years owing to ailments, but now I'm completely healthy and routinely playing domestic cricket and leagues all around the world,” Ali explained. “If you look at my record in domestic white-ball cricket over the last few of years, I don't think there are many players who have done better as an all-rounder than me.”

Ali, who was selected by Muzaffarabad Tigers, is also looking forward to playing in the next Kashmir Premier League (KPL).

“I'm really eager to play in the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) with Muzaffarabad Tigers. “Hopefully, we'll put up a strong performance during the tournament,” he added.

He also praised Tigers skipper Mohammad Hafeez, a seasoned Pakistan all-rounder.

“Hafeez bhai is a seasoned player who is also a member of Pakistan's current T20 squad. He has extensive experience of the game and has previously managed the Pakistan squad, including at the World Cup, which would be useful to the players, and we expect to gain a lot while playing under his leadership,” he added.

He also discussed his remarkable bowling performance in the 2006 U-19 World Cup final against India, when he took 5/35 in a low-scoring contest.

“I got off to a terrific start in my career with the U-19 World Cup [in 2006].” Playing in the final versus India, winning the match, and being named player of the match was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

“India had several promising kids in that match, like as [Cheteshwar] Pujara, Rohit Sharma, and [Piyush] Chawla, who went on to become superstars,” he explained.

He also praised pacers Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali for their consistency.

“When it comes to our bowlers, there are two guys who regularly perform well in the form of Shaheen Afridi and Hasan Ali.
