Hasan was the third fastest Pakistani to attain the milestone, having done so in 38 matches. Umar Gul, a former bowler, owns the record for reaching the milestone in 36 matches.
According to ESPN Cricinfo, Hasan has also became the eighth fastest player to achieve the 50-wicket mark in the amount of matches he has played.
The pacer would have like to see his team triumph on the big day, but Pakistan's match against the West Indies was called off owing to weather.
