- Pakistanis may forgive New Zealand "since we are a compassionate country," adds the fast bowler.
- "Extremely unhappy on the unexpected delay of the series," says Pakistan captain Babar Azam.
- After alerting the PCB of a "security concern," the New Zealand cricket team canceled their trip to Pakistan.
In response to the news that New Zealand had canceled the much-anticipated One Day International (ODI) series against Pakistan, Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir warned that this decision will "bite you [New Zealand] in the future."
“[Hi New Zealand] might we as a Pakistani will forgive [you] because we are a nice nation, but this act will bite [you] in the future for sure,” the star cricketer said on his official Twitter account.
Amir isn't the first cricketer to criticize New Zealand Cricket for canceling the Pakistan cricket visit despite Pakistan's security promises.
Shahid Afridi, the former captain of Pakistan's cricket team, had previously chastised New Zealand Cricket, stating that the visit had been put off due to a "HOAX danger," despite all guarantees. Do you realize the IMPACT of your choice, @BLACKCAPS?”
Pakistan captain Babar Azam expressed his displeasure, saying, "Extremely upset on the unexpected delay of the series, which might have brought millions of Pakistan cricket fans smiles back."
