Pak vs NZ: New Zealand team cancels Pakistan tour

RAWALPINDI: The New Zealand cricket team's trip to Pakistan was called off on Friday after the Pakistan Cricket Board received a "security alert."

The PCB verified the information in a press release.

The press statement states, "Earlier today, New Zealand Cricket told us that they had been alerted to some security alert and had unilaterally decided to postpone the series."

"For all visiting teams, the Pakistan Cricket Board and Pakistan Government established flawless security preparations." New Zealand Cricket has been assured of this. Pakistan's prime leader directly met with New Zealand's prime minister, informing her that Pakistan has one of the greatest intelligence services in the world.

According to the PCB, the security professionals with the New Zealand squad were satisfied with the security arrangements put in place by the Pakistan government throughout their stay in Pakistan.

"The PCB is keen to continue the scheduled matches.

This last-minute withdrawal, on the other hand, would enrage cricket fans in Pakistan and throughout the world."

The PCB claims that

Plans are being made for the departure of the New Zealand squad.

The decision to postpone the tour was made "after an escalation in the New Zealand Government danger levels for Pakistan, and advice from NZC security experts on the field," according to a statement from the New Zealand cricket board.

The team's departure is now being planned, according to the press statement.

"It's a disappointment for the PCB, who have been fantastic hosts," New Zealand Cricket CEO David White said, "but player safety is paramount, and we think this is the only responsible choice."

A news conference will be held by the Minister of the Interior.

According to reports, the Interior Minister will conduct a news conference at 5:00 p.m. to throw additional light on the situation. Sources also informed Geo News that both teams' players were instructed to stay in their rooms and not go outside.

Pakistanis in general, and Islamabad and Rawalpindi supporters in particular, are upset that the match has been canceled, according to sportswriter Alia Rasheed.

There will be more to come.
